Sisal Polishing Disc Si/W/PK | Metal Polish | 350 mm
Biased Sisal Cloth
Diameter 350 mm
12 Ply / 27 mm
Product description Si-W-PK | 350mm
EICKELIT pre-polishing discs of the type Si-W-PK consist of 12 plies of a highly compressed sisal fabric connected with a large number of concentric stitched seams. This fabric is biased by 45° against the weaving direction. As a result, the EICKELIT sisal fabric discs are particularly strong and are therefore suitable for pre-polishing all metal surfaces, but especially for particularly hard materials such as stainless steel. Pre-polishing with SI-W-PK discs provides matt surfaces that are optimally prepared for further surface refinement .
Product features
- Compacted sisal fabric, 12 plies, maximum counter pressure, extra strong attack
- Circular quilted circles (10 mm spacing) made of natural linen machine thread ensure residue-free wear together with the sisal trimming
- Each disc is calibrated individually for a particularly low-vibration concentricity. This ensures a high level of work safety and a particularly uniform polishing pattern
- Diameter 350 mm, thickness approx. 27 mm
- Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 2,200 min-1
Sisal fibers are produced worldwide in tropical cultivation areas from special agave species. Like many other natural fibers, sisal fibers have proven to be very resistant to physical and chemical influences. In addition, sisal is particularly tough, has high tensile strength and is nevertheless relatively stiff. Due to these properties, sisal fabrics are particularly suitable for the high mechanical loads that typically occur when pre-polishing metals and especially steel.
Areas of application
- Fine grinding / pre-polishing non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel
- When polishing with sisal fabrics, uniform matt surfaces are created. The abrasive effect of pure sisal corresponds to a fine sanding of approx. grit 280
- Use of sisal fabric pre-polishing discs with diameters > 200 mm exclusively on the polishing stand
- Si/W/PK pre-polishing wheels are operated optimally at cutting speeds of approx. 25-40 m/s
Dressing sisal polishing tools
- An optimal polishing result can only be achieved with carefully prepared polishing tools. Therefore, please read our recommendations for the optimal preparing and dressing sisal polishing tools
- You should also dress your used polishing tools regularly. This is particularly necessary if residues of the polishing paste have solidified in the wheel or your polishing wheels are heavily contaminated due to material abrasion.
