Corrugated Sisal-Cotton Cut Buffing Wheel SB-3

SB-3 cut-buffing wheels consist of corrugated sisal fabric which is on both sides covered with a raw cotton fabric. They deliver high counter pressure and flexibility and are therefore suited for coarse cut-buffing of slightly profiled surfaces. The fan shape of SB-3 cut-buffing wheels delivers strong airflows that provide effective cooling in high performance metalworking. They are mainly used for the work piece preparation of galvanic surface refinements, as well as machine buffing of tool steels and precision parts.

  • 3 layers of sisal fabric sewn double-sided with cotton, both diagonally twisted against their weaving direction
  • Trimming attached to a resin reinforced cardboard core with hardened safety staples
  • Calibrated for low-vibration concentricity

  • Configurable bores holes 25 - 60 mm


Sisal is obtained from specific agave species in global cultivation areas. Similar to other natural fibers, sisal fibers are very resistant to physical and chemical stresses. In addition, sisal is very tough, has high tensile strength and is also characterized by its high rigidity. This is why sisal is particularly suitable for polishing and coarse cut-buffing of metals and especially steel.

Sisal-Cotton Composite

Our sisal-cotton composites consist of sisal fabric with a dense, diagonally biased plain weave. The sisal fabric is covered on both sides with light raw cotton fabric and stitched together with fine cotton threads at a seam distance of approx. 10 mm. The resulting firm sisal-cotton composite material is then further processed into the variants of the EICKELIT SB-X cut-buffing tools.

  • Cutting speeds approx. 25-40 m / s

Dressing of sisal polishing tools

  • Careful preparation of the polishing tool is a prerequisite for an optimal polishing result. Please follow our recommendations for dressing sisal polishing tools
  • Used polishing tools should also be dressed again on a regular basis. This applies in particular if residues of polishing paste have solidified or the polishing tools are heavily contaminated with material abrasion.
