Sisal Cut-Buffing Wheels Si-W-PK

Si-W-PK cut-buffing wheels are made from multiple firmly connected layers of sisal fabric, diagonally biased against the weaving direction. Due to the coarsness of its natural fibres, sisal fabric discs are suitable for coarse cut-buffing of all metal surfaces, in particular for stainless steel. Cut-buffing with Sisal cut-buffing wheels leaves matt surfaces that are optimally prepared for the subsequent finish buffing steps.

Product Features

  • 6 - 12 plies made of dense sisal fabric with 45° biased weave
  • Concentric quilted circles made of natural linen machine thread, which wears off during the polishing process without leaving any residue
  • Individually calibrated, for low-vibration concentricity
  • Diameter 150 - 550 mm
  • Configurable width 12 - 27 mm (6 - 12 ply)
  • Bore hole diameters 10 - 60 mm

Sisal

Sisal is obtained from specific agave species in global cultivation areas. Similar to other natural fibers, sisal fibers are very resistant to physical and chemical stresses. In addition, sisal is very tough, has high tensile strength and is also characterized by its high rigidity. This is why sisal is particularly suitable for polishing and coarse cut-buffing of metals and especially steel.

  • * Observe the safety regulations for the minimum diameter of drive shafts!

Bore Holes

  • We manufacture your desired bore individually for you. We cover every known bore diameter for industrial polishing machines *
  • If you need other bore diameters or special adapters (e.g. for hexagonal shafts, with keyways, etc.), we will be happy to manufacture them on request **

* Polishing discs drilled individually at the customer's request are excluded from exchange or return in accordance with our Terms of Cancellation.

** Observe safety regulations for the minimum diameter of drive shafts!

Width

  • We manufacture SI-W-PK discs according to customer requirements in thicknesses of 12 - 27 mm (corresponding to 6 - 12 layers of sisal fabric) *

* Polishing discs that are individually manufactured at the customer's request are excluded from exchange or return in accordance with Section 7 Paragraph 1.1 “Non-prefabricated goods” of our terms and conditions.

Areas of Application

  • Sisal Fabric cut-buffing discs are suited for fine polishing or coarse cut-buffing of all non-ferrous metals, steel and inox
  • The abrasive effect of pure sisal corresponds to approx. Grit 280, providing matt surfaces on metal
  • We recommend Si/W/PK discs together with polishing compounds of approx. Grit 240 (non-ferrous metals) or approx. Grit 280 (steel / INOX)
  • Recommended cutting speeds are in the range of approx. 25-40 m/s
  • To be used manually with straight grinders, flexible shafts or buffing machines

Dressing of sisal polishing tools

  • Careful preparation of the polishing tool is a prerequisite for an optimal polishing result. Please follow our recommendations for dressing sisal polishing tools
  • Used polishing tools should also be dressed again on a regular basis. This applies in particular if residues of polishing paste have solidified or the polishing tools are heavily contaminated with material abrasion.
