Sisal Polishing Disc Si/W/PK | Metal Polish | 250 mm
Biased Sisal Cloth
Diameter 250 mm
12 Ply / 27 mm
Product description Si-W-PK | 250mm
EICKELIT pre-polishing discs Si-W-PK are made from 12 individual layers of biased sisal fabric, which are connected by concentric stitching and are aligned at 45° against the weaving direction. As a result, these discs have a high level of strength in addition to their gentle abrasiveness. Sisal fabric discs are therefore ideal for pre-polishing all metals and are used in particular for pre-polishing stainless steel surfaces. Pre-polishing with SI-W-PK provides matt surfaces that are well prepared for further finishing steps.
Product features
- 12 plies of very firmly connected sisal fabric provide maximum counter pressure and an extra strong attack
- Concentric quilted circles (10 mm apart) made of natural linen machine thread, which wear off during polishing without leaving any residue and at the same time as the sisal trimming
- Each disc is individually calibrated for low-vibration concentricity and a particularly homogeneous polishing pattern
- Diameter 250 mm, thickness approx. 27 mm
- Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 3,100 min-1
The renewable sisal raw material is produced in global cultivation areas from special agave species. Like many other natural fibers based on cellulose, sisal fibers are also very resistant to physical and chemical stress. In addition, sisal is very tough, tension-stable and yet quite stiff. For this reason, pre-polishing discs with sisal are used in particular for rough surface polishing of steel that is difficult to process.
Areas of application
- Pre-polishing and fine sanding of non-ferrous metals and all types of steel
- Pre-polishing discs with sisal provide a matte finish. Pure sisal itself has an abrasive effect, polishing with sisal fabric discs corresponds to fine sanding with a grit of approx. 280
- Polishing discs with diameters >200 mm are particularly suitable for polishing on a polishing stand
- Sisal fabric discs Si/W/PK have their optimal cutting speed at approx. 25-40 m/s
Dressing sisal polishing tools
- In order to achieve an optimal polishing result, careful preparation of the polishing tool is required. Therefore, please follow our recommendations for stripping of sisal polishing tools
- Even dirty polishing tools should be redressed regularly. This applies above all if residues of polishing paste have already solidified on the polishing wheel or the polishing tools are heavily contaminated with material abrasion.
