PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SISAL CORD BRUSHES

EICKELIT sisal cord pre-polishing brushes are used to pre-polish shaped work piece surfaces in particular. Indentations, undercuts, corners and edges can be worked on with the flexible sisal bristles. This means that even workpieces with complex shapes can be polished in just one step. Together with a coarse pre-polishing paste, a fine grinding pattern can be achieved with sisal cord brushes in a short time. Surfaces made of stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals are then ideally prepared for further processes such as high-gloss polishing or anodizing.

Sisal is particularly resistant to strong physical and chemical stresses. In addition, the fibers are very tough and have high tensile strength, while at the same time being characterized by a high level of rigidity. Due to the gently abrasive effect of sisal, these tools are particularly suitable for pre-polishing metals.

EICKELIT sisal cord pre-polishing brushes use 8-strand knotted, approx. 5 mm thick sisal cords from European production. The cords specially made for EICKELIT contain sisal fibers with a particularly large staple length. This makes them very soft and flexible and ensures excellent service life and the high efficiency of our EICKELIT sisal cord brushes.

For an even more powerful attack, we recommend our impregnated sisal cord pre-polishing brushes.

General Information on Polishing

Protective Equipment when Polishing

When grinding and polishing, the work equipment used creates considerable health risks. It is therefore compulsory to wear suitable personal protective equipment for work safety when grinding and polishing. In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.

ISO 7010 M013 Wear eye / face protection

Wear eye / face protection

The fine dust emanating from polishing is harmful to the eyes. Flying parts can cause serious injuries to the face and eyes.

ISO 7010 M017 Wear respiratory protection

Wear respiratory protection

Fine dust contaminated with heavy metals and respirable, which can only be retained with suitable respiratory protection, is produced during polishing.

ISO 7010 M010 Wear protective clothing

Wear protective clothing

Flying parts can cause sensitive injuries all over the body.

ISO 7010 M009 Wear gloves

Wear gloves

In general, gloves should be worn when grinding and polishing. If there is a risk of being wound up (e.g. drills, processing small parts, etc.), gloves may be prohibited on the basis of a risk assessment.

ISO 7010 M003 Wear ear protection

Wear ear protection

Due to the noise exposure during grinding and polishing, it is necessary to wear suitable hearing protection on a regular basis.
