Sisal Polishing Disc Si/W/PK | Metal Polish | 400 mm
Biased Sisal Cloth
Diameter 400 mm
12 Ply / 27 mm
Product description Si-W-PK | 400mm
EICKELIT Si-W-PK pre-polishing discs consist of 12 layers of pressed sisal fabric firmly quilted with linen yarns. Due to the special strength of the Si-W-PK sisal fabric discs, they are particularly suitable for pre-polishing metal surfaces and especially for hard materials such as stainless steel. Pre-polishing with SI-W-PK provides a silky-matt surface that can be further processed in the subsequent polishing steps to a flawless high gloss.
Product features
- 12 plies of highly compressed sisal fabric for high counter pressure and effective pre-polishing after sanding
- Circular quilted circles made of natural linen machine thread at a distance of 10 mm. These yarns dissolve during the polishing process without leaving any residue
- Each Si-W-PK pre-polishing wheel is individually calibrated for low-vibration concentricity. This ensures a high level of work safety and a particularly uniform polishing pattern
- Diameter 400 mm, thickness approx. 27 mm
- Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 1,900 min-1
Sisal fibers are produced globally as a renewable raw material from various agave species. Similar to many other natural fibers based on cellulose, sisal fibers are also very resistant to physical and chemical stress. Sisal is also characterized by its particular toughness and tensile strength, while at the same time the sisal fiber has a high degree of rigidity. Thanks to these properties, polishing tools made of sisal fabric are particularly suitable for the extreme mechanical loads when pre-polishing metals.
Areas of application
- Non-ferrous metals, tool steel, stainless steel
- Fine grinding, pre-polishing, satin finishing, matting
- Pre-polishing with sisal fabric pre-polishing discs produces surfaces with a silky sheen to a matt finish
- Pure sisal is abrasive, its effect is comparable to fine sanding with a grit of approx. 280
- Polishing discs with diameters > 200 mm should only be used on the fixed polishing stand
- The reference value for optimal cutting speeds of sisal fabric polishing discs is approx. 25-40 m/s
Dressing sisal polishing tools
- An optimal polishing result can be supported in particular by careful preparation of the polishing tool. Please read our notes and recommendations for dressing sisal polishing tools< /a>
- During the long period of use, polishing tools should be regularly redressed. This applies above all as soon as polishing pastes have solidified or the polishing discs are heavily soiled with material abrasion.
