Sisal Polishing Disc Si/W/PK | Metal Polish | 300 mm
Biased Sisal Cloth
Diameter 300 mm
12 Ply / 27 mm
Product description Si-W-PK | 300mm
The pre-polishing disc Si-W-PK consists of 12 tightly quilted plies of sisal fabric with a biased weave pattern. The resulting strength of the polishing discs makes them the ideal tool for vigorous pre-polishing of all metal surfaces. Sisal fabric pre-polishing discs are used especially on very hard materials such as e.g. B. stainless steel is used. Surfaces pre-polished with SI-W-PK polishing discs provide a satin-matt shine and are therefore optimally prepared for the subsequent finishing processes.
Product features
- Compacted sisal fabric in 12 layers provides maximum counter pressure and extra effective pre-polishing
- Circular quilted circles made from a natural linen machine thread spaced 10 mm apart. These wear out without leaving any residue and at the same time as the sisal trimming
- Each polishing wheel is individually calibrated for low-vibration concentricity and thus ensures maximum work safety, productivity and trouble-free polishing patterns
- Diameter 300 mm, thickness approx. 27 mm
- Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 2,500 min-1
The growing areas of the natural raw material sisal are located in tropical and subtropical zones worldwide. The sisal fibers are obtained there from specific agave species. Like many other natural fibers made from cellulose, sisal fibers are also very resistant to physical and chemical influences. Sisal is particularly characterized by its toughness and tensile strength combined with very high rigidity. For this reason, sisal is particularly suitable for rough usage, which are characteristic for the pre-polishing of metals and especially steel.
Areas of application
- Fine grinding and pre-polishing of non-ferrous metals, tool steel, stainless steel
- The abrasive effect of pure sisal corresponds to a cut of approx. grit 280
- Pre-polishing discs Si/W/PK made of sisal fabric provide a matt to satin-matt surface, depending on the polishing paste used
- Polishing discs with diameters > 200 mm should only be used on the appropriate polishing block
- For sisal pre-polishing discs, we recommend optimal cutting speeds of approx. 25-40 m/s
Dressing sisal polishing tools
- The basic prerequisite for optimal polishing is careful preparation of the polishing discs. Therefore, please follow our recommendations and instructions for the optimal dressing of sisal polishing discs
- Even dirty polishing tools should be redressed regularly. This applies in particular if residues of polishing paste have solidified or the polishing discs are heavily contaminated due to material abrasion.
