Sisal Polishing Disc Si/W/PK | Metal Polish | 200 mm
Biased Sisal Cloth
Diameter 200 mm
12 Ply / 27 mm
Product description Si-W-PK | 200mm
EICKLEIT Si-W-PK pre-polishing discs consist of firmly quilted 12 layers of biased sisal fabric. As a result of, these pre-polishing discs are particularly firm and are therefore suitable for pre-polishing all metal surfaces and stainless steel in particular. Pre-polishing with SI-W-PK creates matt surfaces that are well prepared for subsequent polishing steps.
Product features
- Compressed sisal fabric, 12 quilted plies for maximum counter pressure and particularly effective pre-polishing
- Quilted circles made of natural linen machine thread, concentrically spaced 10 mm apart, wear off without leaving any residue during polishing
- Particularly low-vibration concentricity for high work safety and a trouble-free polishing finish due to the individual calibration of the EICKELIT polishing discs
- Diameter 200 mm, thickness approx. 27 mm
- Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 3,800 min-1
The natural substance sisal is a cellulose fiber that is obtained from agaves in global cultivation areas. Like other natural fibers, sisal fibers are also very resistant to physical and chemical stress. Sisal is also extremely tough, has high tensile strength and is very stiff at the same time. This is why tools with sisal trimmings are particularly suitable for the intensive pre-polishing of metals.
Areas of application
- Pre-polishing of non-ferrous metals, tool steel, stainless steel
- Because the abrasive effect of pure sisal corresponds to a fine sanding with a grit of approx. 280, pre-polishing discs made of sisal fabric create a satin-matt surface
- SI/W/PK pre-polishing discs with a diameter of up to 200 mm are suitable for manual use with straight grinders and flexible shafts. Larger diameters should only be used on the polishing stand.
- For pre-polishing with SI-W-PK, we recommend a polishing paste with approx. grit 240 (non-ferrous metals) and approx. grit 280 (steel / stainless steel)
- The optimal cutting speed of sisal fabric polishing discs is approx. 25-40 m/s
Dressing sisal polishing tools
- Prerequisite for an optimal polishing result is the careful preparation of the polishing tool. Please follow our recommendations for Dressing of sisal polishing tools
- Used polishing tools should also be redressed regularly. This applies in particular if residues of polishing paste have solidified or the polishing tools are heavily soiled with material abrasion.
