Product description Abrasive fleece shank tool Grit 320

EICKELIT grinding fleece shank tools are made from lamellae or discs of a nylon random fleece with firmly bonded abrasive grain. Their areas of application are, in particular, cleaning, fine grinding, satin finishing and matting of non-ferrous metals and steel. Our range of abrasive fleeces based on aluminum oxide or silicon carbide offers a large selection of strengths and grain sizes.

Thanks to the very flexible tangled fleece, fleece shank tools are particularly suitable for gentle removal on surfaces with complex geometries. The abrasive fleece does not become clogged during polishing because as the backing material wears down, fresh abrasive particles are constantly released in a constant concentration on the tool surface. That's why polishing tools made of fiber abrasive fleece are maintenance-free and provide a uniform grinding pattern over their entire service life.

  • * Observe the safety regulations for the minimum clamping depth of shank tools!

Areas of Application

  • Non-woven polishing tools are suitable for the surface treatment of metal (steel, INOX, non-ferrous metals and alloys) and non-metal surfaces (plastics, paints, wood, etc.)
  • Their wide area of application includes for instance cleaning, descaling, deburring, fine grinding, roughening, matting, satin finishing, etc.

Application Instructions

  • New abrasive fleece polishing tools must first be carefully run in until a uniform finish is achieved
  • In order to avoid overheating and a subsequent disturbance of the surface structure that is difficult to correct afterwards, abrasive fleece polishing tools should be operated with as moderate to low pressure as possible
  • Basically, the rule applies that a lower cutting speed produces a coarser matting image
  • The following guide values apply to the typical cutting speeds of non-woven abrasive polishing tools:
    • Non-ferrous metals 15-25 m/s
    • Steels 15-25 m/s
    • Thermosets 10-25 m/s
    • Thermoplastics 8-15 m/s
    • Acrylic glass 3-8 m/s
