PRODUCT DESCRIPTION KONSTANT 4-4 / diameter 250 mm

The high-performance polishing discs KONSTANT 4-4 are particularly suitable for pre- and main polishing on non-ferrous metals and stainless steel. The spirally arranged layers of 4 interconnected and pleated layers of the light unbleached cotton fabric N16 around a cardboard core provide KONSTANT polishing discs with a medium-firm contact pressure without losing their flexibility. The folding also creates a very effective cooling effect, even with high polishing performance.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Multiple layers of Z-pleated strips of standard raw cotton fabric N16
  • Medium contact pressure, flexible adjustment and strong cooling effect
  • Pre- and main polishing on non-ferrous metal and stainless steel
  • Diameter 250 mm / core thickness approx. 22 mm
  • Freely selectable bores 10 - 60 mm
  • Each wheel is calibrated for low-vibration polishing
  • Pre-roughened ready-to-use if required
  • Vmax = 40 m/s, Umax = 3,050 min-1

COTTON QUALITY

EICKELIT polishing discs are made exclusively from Oeko-Tex® certified raw cotton fabric in Germany. All of the plain weave cotton cretonnes we use are 100% pure and contain no synthetic fibers. That is why our polishing discs wear out evenly and are particularly dust-free. Our range of cotton fabrics that is always in stock enables a wide range of applications with short delivery times.

N16 is a medium-strength standard plain weave raw cotton fabric with a specific weight of approx. 190 g/m². The cotton fabric N16 is particularly suitable for polishing non-ferrous metals, plastics and paint.

APPLICATIONS Konstant Polishing Discs

KONSTANT polishing discs are primarily used for the pre- and main polishing of non-ferrous metals and stainless steel up to the high-gloss polishing of sensitive paint surfaces. The cotton fabric, pleated in several layers, enables KONSTANT polishing discs to exert strong counter-pressure. This property distinguishes KONSTANT from the significantly softer EFFEKTA polishing disks with soft folding and the firmer buffing discs made of cotton fabric layers.

Thanks to their Z-fold, KONSTANT polishing tools deliver a powerful air flow for effective cooling and produce particularly homogeneous polishing patterns on surfaces and shaped workpieces.

General Information on Polishing

Trimming Cotton Buffing Wheels

  • Careful preparation of the buffing / polishing tool is a prerequisite for an optimal surface result. Please follow our recommendations for trimming cotton buffing wheels
  • Used buffing discs should also be dressed again on a regular basis. This is especially true if residues of polishing paste have solidified on the working surface or the buffing wheels are heavily contaminated with material abrasion

Protective Equipment when Polishing

When grinding and polishing, the work equipment used creates considerable health risks. It is therefore compulsory to wear suitable personal protective equipment for work safety when grinding and polishing. In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.

ISO 7010 M013 Wear eye / face protection

Wear eye / face protection

The fine dust emanating from polishing is harmful to the eyes. Flying parts can cause serious injuries to the face and eyes.

ISO 7010 M017 Wear respiratory protection

Wear respiratory protection

Fine dust contaminated with heavy metals and respirable, which can only be retained with suitable respiratory protection, is produced during polishing.

ISO 7010 M010 Wear protective clothing

Wear protective clothing

Flying parts can cause sensitive injuries all over the body.

ISO 7010 M009 Wear gloves

Wear gloves

In general, gloves should be worn when grinding and polishing. If there is a risk of being wound up (e.g. drills, processing small parts, etc.), gloves may be prohibited on the basis of a risk assessment.

ISO 7010 M003 Wear ear protection

Wear ear protection

Due to the noise exposure during grinding and polishing, it is necessary to wear suitable hearing protection on a regular basis.
