Chromium is the hardest pure metal with a Mohs hardness of around 8.5. Similar to aluminum, chromium forms a protective oxide layer on its surface, which explains its excellent corrosion resistance. Due to this property, chromium is ideal as a coating material to protect metallic surfaces from environmental influences. In stainless steels with a chromium content of at least 12%, this mechanism provides, among other positive properties, effective corrosion protection.

Pure chrome has a light silvery metallic shine and is easy to polish. Because of their protection and unique shine, polished chrome surfaces are popular decorative elements in many areas.

MENZERNA P126 HIGH GLOSS POLISHING PASTE Menzerna P126 is a high-gloss paste that was specially developed for stainless steel, but is also suitable for all other types of steel. With this paste you can quickly achieve a perfect high gloss. The surfaces polished to a high gloss with P126 are ideally prepared for the super-finish polish with Menzerna P175 or M5.
