Menzerna GW18 Heavy-Cut pre-polishing paste

On paintwork and plastics, the first polishing step after sanding with P600 is carried out with the heavy-cut pre-polishing compound GW18. This compound with its special grease binding effect, prevents sensitive surfaces from overheating. With GW18 all fault patterns and grinding marks are fast and thoroughly eliminated. After polishing with GW18, paint and plastic surfaces are ideally prepared for high-gloss buffing with Menzerna GW16 and a subsequent Super Finish with Menzerna P175.

Product features

  • Quick removal of scratches without excessive heat build-up on plastics and paintwork
  • Special fat binding technology prevents paintwork and plastic surfaces from overheating
  • To be used together with solid cotton polishing wheels, e.g. KONSTANT N189 or REX N2550

Application instructions plastic polish

The Menzerna polishing compound system for plastics and varnishes is particularly suitable for use in automobile interiors, arts and crafts, picture frames, kitchens, boat and yacht construction, furniture, violin, piano and piano construction.

  • Polish at cutting speeds of 6 - 24 m/s depending on the temperature sensitivity of the specific plastic material or paint technology
  • For an optimal surface quality after polishing a carefully structured grinding process is mandatory
  • To keep the polishing times as short as possible, the final grinding cut should not be too coarse
  • Menzerna heavy-cut pre-polishing compound GW18 is especially suitable for polishing polyester paintwork after sanding with P600
  • In order to avoid "orange peel" or dulling/sinking of the surface, the workpieces should be heated as little as possible during polishing

In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.
