Product description Abrasive fleece shank tools Grit 600

Abrasive fleece EICKELIT shank tools are made of random fleece nylon with firmly bonded abrasive grain. They are used for cleaning, fine grinding, satin finishing and matting of non-ferrous metals and steels, as well as a large number of other fields of application. Our wide Abrasive fleece range based on aluminum oxide or silicon carbide enables the production of a wide range of polishing tools with different strengths and grain sizes.

Tangled fleeces are very flexible, which is why fleece shank tools are suitable for processing complex geometries with gentle removal. Due to the constant wear of the carrier material, the tool surface always releases fresh abrasives in a constant concentration and thus prevents the polishing wheel from clogging. As a result, EICKELIT grinding fleece shank polishing tools are maintenance-free and provide a perfectly uniform grinding pattern throughout their entire service life.

Areas of Application

  • Non-woven polishing tools are suitable for the surface treatment of metal (steel, INOX, non-ferrous metals and alloys) and non-metal surfaces (plastics, paints, wood, etc.)
  • Their wide area of application includes for instance cleaning, descaling, deburring, fine grinding, roughening, matting, satin finishing, etc.

Application Instructions

  • New abrasive fleece polishing tools must first be carefully run in until a uniform finish is achieved
  • In order to avoid overheating and a subsequent disturbance of the surface structure that is difficult to correct afterwards, abrasive fleece polishing tools should be operated with as moderate to low pressure as possible
  • Basically, the rule applies that a lower cutting speed produces a coarser matting image
  • The following guide values apply to the typical cutting speeds of non-woven abrasive polishing tools:
    • Non-ferrous metals 15-25 m/s
    • Steels 15-25 m/s
    • Thermosets 10-25 m/s
    • Thermoplastics 8-15 m/s
    • Acrylic glass 3-8 m/s
