Polishing-kit "super finish" for plastics and varnishes | drills | 80mm

The four-part super finish polishing-kit for plastics and varnishes enables hard-to-reach plastics or varnished components to be polished to a high gloss. This polishing set reliably delivers a flawless super finish on carefully prepared polymer surfaces.

Product features

  • EFFEKTA FM230 shank tool, 80 x 6 mm
  • EFFEKTA FM209 shank tool, 80 x 6 mm
  • Vmax = 30 m/s, Umax = 7,200 rpm
  • High-gloss polishing compound Menzerna GW16 (approx. 1.3 kg)
  • super finish polishing compound Menzerna P175 (approx. 1.35 kg)

Application

  • Wear protective equipment and follow safety regulations!
  • Roughen the polishing discs before use using a suitable dressing tool
  • Wet rotating tool sparingly with polishing paste
  • Measure the pressure carefully! Too high contact pressure and/or too low speeds lead to overheating of the workpiece with uneven surfaces that can no longer be improved by polishing!

Step 1

  • The evenly pre-polished and cleaned surface in cross passes with a shank tool EFFEKTA FM230 and Menzerna GW16 on lacquer and thermoset surfaces at approx. 20-25 m/s (4,900 - 6,200 rpm), on thermoplastic workpieces at approx. 10 -15 m/s (2,400 - 3,700 rpm) quickly polish to a high gloss
  • After polishing, clean the surface with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, degrease the workpiece with a tenside solution

Step 2

  • The clean, mirror-polished surface using the EFFEKTA FM209 shank tool and Polish the Menzerna P175 on lacquer and thermoset surfaces at approx. 20-25 m/s (4,900 - 6,200 rpm), on thermoplastic workpieces at approx. 10 -15 m/s (2,400 - 3,700 rpm) quickly in cross passes to a super finish
  • The super finish Paste P175 only leaves an invisible microfilm on a flawless surface. To protect this surface, mechanical cleaning after superfinishing is usually avoided

Protective Equipment when Polishing

When grinding and polishing, the work equipment used creates considerable health risks. It is therefore compulsory to wear suitable personal protective equipment for work safety when grinding and polishing. In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.

ISO 7010 M013 Wear eye / face protection

Wear eye / face protection

The fine dust emanating from polishing is harmful to the eyes. Flying parts can cause serious injuries to the face and eyes.

ISO 7010 M017 Wear respiratory protection

Wear respiratory protection

Fine dust contaminated with heavy metals and respirable, which can only be retained with suitable respiratory protection, is produced during polishing.

ISO 7010 M010 Wear protective clothing

Wear protective clothing

Flying parts can cause sensitive injuries all over the body.

ISO 7010 M009 Wear gloves

Wear gloves

In general, gloves should be worn when grinding and polishing. If there is a risk of being wound up (e.g. drills, processing small parts, etc.), gloves may be prohibited on the basis of a risk assessment.

ISO 7010 M003 Wear ear protection

Wear ear protection

Due to the noise exposure during grinding and polishing, it is necessary to wear suitable hearing protection on a regular basis.
