Chromium is the hardest elemental metal with a hardness of approximately 8.5 (Mohs). Similar to aluminum, chromium also forms a very hard, passivating oxide layer on the surface, which explains its high corrosion resistance. This property makes chromium an excellent coating material to protect metallic surfaces made of iron or non-ferrous metals from corrosion caused by environmental influences. The same mechanism ensures a high level of protection against corrosion ("stainless steel") in steels with chromium as an alloy component from approx. 12%, along with other advantageous properties.
In addition, elemental chrome is a bright, silvery metal that can be easily polished. Due to the protective effect and the unique mirror shine, polished chrome surfaces are sought-after decorative elements in a wide range of applications.

Menzerna P126 is a high-gloss paste that was specially developed for stainless steels containing chromium. In addition, P126 is also suitable for high-gloss polishing of chrome surfaces. Protective Equipment when Polishing
When grinding and polishing, the work equipment used creates considerable health risks. It is therefore compulsory to wear suitable personal protective equipment for work safety when grinding and polishing. In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.
Wear eye / face protection
The fine dust emanating from polishing is harmful to the eyes. Flying parts can cause serious injuries to the face and eyes.
Wear respiratory protection
Fine dust contaminated with heavy metals and respirable, which can only be retained with suitable respiratory protection, is produced during polishing.
