Chromium is an extremely hard metal with a Mohs hardness of around 8.5. Similar to aluminum, chromium forms a protective oxide layer on its surface, which explains its excellent corrosion resistance. Due to this property, chrome is ideal as a coating material to protect metallic surfaces from environmental influences. In stainless steels with a chromium content of at least 12%, this mechanism provides, among other positive properties, effective corrosion protection.
The clear metallic shine of pure chrome is silvery bright and can be easily polished. Due to its protection and unique brilliance, polished chrome surfaces are very popular as decorative elements in various areas.
MENZERNA P126 HIGH GLOSS POLISHING PASTE
Menzerna P126 is a special high-gloss paste that was designed for stainless steels with chrome content. In addition, P126 can also be used to polish chrome surfaces to a high gloss. By using the polishing paste P126 you can quickly achieve a flawless shine on chrome. After polishing with P126, the surface is optimally prepared for the super-finish polish with Menzerna M5.

MENZERNA P175 SUPERFINISH POLISHING PASTE
Menzerna P175 is a very fine, versatile super-finishing paste that creates a shiny, streak-free surface. It is suitable for aluminum surfaces as well as for soft non-ferrous metals, stainless steel and plastics. This paste creates a brilliant, deep-gloss surface.

Protective Equipment when Polishing
When grinding and polishing, the work equipment used creates considerable health risks. It is therefore compulsory to wear suitable personal protective equipment for work safety when grinding and polishing. In particular, all rotating polishing and brushing tools may only be operated with suitable covers for reasons of occupational safety.
Wear eye / face protection
The fine dust emanating from polishing is harmful to the eyes. Flying parts can cause serious injuries to the face and eyes.
Wear respiratory protection
Fine dust contaminated with heavy metals and respirable, which can only be retained with suitable respiratory protection, is produced during polishing.
Wear protective clothing
Flying parts can cause sensitive injuries all over the body.
Wear gloves
In general, gloves should be worn when grinding and polishing. If there is a risk of being wound up (e.g. drills, processing small parts, etc.), gloves may be prohibited on the basis of a risk assessment.
